New Learning to LEED V3Note: UF/TREEO does not offer the LEED exams. For exam information and registration visit the Green Building Certification Institute site. The University of Florida TREEO Center is pleased to announce the launch of the next phase of its LEED professional development program: Learning to LEED V3. This new program is an update to Learning to LEED, an innovative and highly successful LEED-AP educational program in which over 90% of the 3,500 students attending the course took and passed the USGBC LEED-AP exam. The recent launch of LEED V3 by the USGBC significantly changes the qualifications program for professionals seeking to engage in green building certification. The new University of Florida TREEO Center curriculum parallels the Green Building Certification Institute’s (GBCI) two-stage qualification scheme which requires candidates to pass the Green Associate exam to become eligible to then take the LEED-AP exam. As a result, the Learning to LEED V3 curriculum is comprised of two courses:
The instructional team for Learning to LEED V3 is led by Dr. Charles J. Kibert, an experienced consultant, author, and researcher on green building issues. The instructional team includes, Dr. Jim Sullivan, Mark Russell, John Chyz, Rick Fobair, and Lihannon Chyz, all LEED-AP’s with extensive experience on green building projects and teaching LEED-AP courses. Students who complete the University of Florida LEED Green Building Fundamentals for the LEED Green Associate course or the LEED-AP BD&C Overview & Exam Preparation course and do not pass the applicable exam, may retake the course one time free of charge. Additional resources are made available to students completing these courses through a secure website.
