Asbestos Refresher: Inspector

Description

This course reviews requirements for inspectors and updates you on revised EPA, OSHA, DOT and Florida asbestos abatement regulations. Successful completion of a 25-question exam is required. Upon successful completion of this course, you receive a Certificate of Reaccredidation as an Asbestos Inspector. The cost of the course includes course materials and the exam at the end of the course.

In Florida Asbestos Inspectors must work under the direction of a Florida Licensed Asbestos Consultant.

 Daily breaks and lunch at UF TREEO provided.

 

You must be in attendance for entire course to receive continuing education credit and a Certificate of Reaccredidation.

About the Course

This half-day course, held in the morning, reviews requirements for inspectors and updates you on the most recent EPA, OSHA, DOT and Florida asbestos regulations. The course includes a Florida-specific interpretation of regulations. Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive a Certificate of Reaccreditation as an Asbestos Inspector.

This course has been approved by the EPA and the State of Florida for persons wishing to receive Reaccreditation. To be reaccredited, you must provide proof of having successfully completed the initial EPA-approved training course and any annual refresher courses in the discipline in which you seek re-accreditation. If your initial and most recent refresher certificates were issued through another training provider, you must submit copies with your registration form before the class. On-site refresher training is available for large groups. 

Required Exam:  Successful completion of a 25-question exam is required to receive your Certificate of Reaccreditation. See "Refresher Exam Study Guides" under the asbestos introduction to prepare for this exam. 
Persons who plan to do asbestos work in other states should contact that state to verify that accreditation, licensure and other requirements are met.

Certification and Accreditation

PREREQUISITES: U.S. EPA requires documentation of current AHERA Certificates of Accreditation and Certificates of Reaccreditation; and Florida BPR: Licensure of Asbestos Professionals has approved only certain training providers from which you can receive credit to renew your Florida license.

UF/TREEO's asbestos refresher courses are approved by the EPA and the State of Florida for persons wishing to receive re-accreditation. Florida Board of Professional Engineers: This course has been approved by the Florida Board of Professional Engineers for Professional Development Hours (PDHs). Provider Number: 0004040 (CE: Areas of Practice/Educational Institutions).
 
Florida Licensed Asbestos Contractors and Consultants: This course has been approved by the Florida Department of Professional Regulation for licensed Asbestos Contractor's and Consultant's biennium license renewal course continuing education credits.
