Course Objective
The student, pending successful completion of the course, including the exam will receive a Certificate of Reaccreditation as an Asbestos Contractor/Supervisor under TSCA Tile II/AHERA. In addition, the student should be able to list the specific knowledge & skill levels needed to comply with OSHA competent person udner 1926.1101.
Course Description
This course provides you with a regulatory review and update on new asbestos legislation pertinent to asbestos contractors and supervisors. Training activities include OSHA, EPA-NESHAPS, work practices and safety and also with your peers and course instructors. The cost of the course includes course materials and the exam at the end of the course.
In Florida Asbestos Contractor/Supervisors must work under the direction of a Florida Licensed Asbestos Contractor.
Successful completion of a 25-question exam is required. Upon successful completion of this course, you receive a Certificate of Reaccreditation as an Asbestos Contractor/Supervisor.
- In this course, you receive a regulatory review and update on new asbestos legislation pertinent to asbestos contractors/supervisors. Beneficial features of this course include specialized instructors who personally train small student workgroups throughout the day, as well as a communications workstation that advises you on how to locate and access regulatory information on the Internet. Work station on air sampling/health concerns, analytical methods, legal issues and liability, OSHA, EPA-NESHAPS, and work practices and safety give you the opportunity to interact with your peers and course instructors as you solve problems in real-life work scenarios.
Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive a Certificate of Reaccreditation as an Asbestos Contractor/Supervisor.
This course has been approved by the EPA and the State of Florida for persons wishing to receive reaccreditation. To be reaccredited, you must provide proof of having successfully completed the initial EPA-approved training course and any annual refresher courses in the discipline in which you seek reaccreditation. If your initial and most recent refresher certificates were issued through another training provider, you must submit copies with your registration form. On-site refresher training is available for large groups.
Successful completion of a 25-question exam is required to receive your Certificate of Reaccreditation. See "Refresher Exam Study Guides" under the asbestos introduction to prepare for this exam. Persons who plan to do asbestos work in other states should contact that state to verify that accreditation, licensure and other requirements are met.

PREREQUISITES: U.S. EPA requires documentation of current AHERA Certificates of Accreditation and Certificates of Reaccreditation; and Florida BPR: Licensure of Asbestos Professionals has approved only certain training providers from which you can receive credit to renew your Florida license.
UF/TREEO's asbestos refresher courses are approved by the EPA and the State of Florida for persons wishing to receive reaccreditation. To be reaccredited in any of the following courses, you must provide proof of having successfully completed the initial EPA-approved training course in accordance with Florida BPR: Licensure of Asbestos Professionals and any annual refresher courses in the discipline in which you seek reaccreditation.
