| Description |
This course is approved as initial training for class I II III and C&D operators and includes a final exam with a 70% proficiency. Topics include: Solid Waste and Landfill Basics, Environmental Concerns with Waste Handling Facilities, Screening for Prohibited Materials, Mapping Special Wastes, Landfill Construction, Basic Operation, Leachate Management, Gas Management, Groundwater Monitoring, and Closed Landfills.
Daily morning and afternoon breaks are scheduled. There is a one hour lunch break, please make prior arrangements as lunch is not provided.
Course Objective
At the completion of the training the student should be able to discuss the basics of solid waste & landfill operations; environmental concerns with waste handling facilities; screening for prohibited materials; mapping special waste; the fundamentals of landfill construction; gas management; groundwater monitoring issues with closed landfills. The students will also complete a final exam.
You must be in attendance for entire course to receive continuing education credit and a Certificate of Attendance. All participants are required to take the exam.
