Description

Using the Internet, students will explore the rudiments of wastewater treatment. This introductory course includes instruction in water pollution control, preliminary and primary treatment, fixed film processes, and suspended growth systems. Along with reading assignments from the text, the course is enhanced with up-to-date photographs, audio, interactive exercises, and online links.

This course is an approved Class D Course for the State of Florida D-license certification.

About the Course

Wastewater Treatment I is designed to enhance the home-study manual "Operation of Wastewater Treatment Plants" to (1) develop qualified treatment plant operators; (2) expand the abilities of existing operators; and (3) prepare operators for Certification Examinations.

"Textbook is included in registration fee.  We will ship the book to you upon receipt of registration payment.  Please allow 2-3 weeks for shipping." Utilizes "Operation of Wastewater Treatment Plants", Vol. I, CSUS Foundation.

Students must sign up for 1-Hour of hands-on training with a certified operator to complete the course. The operator will need to supply written confirmation of the training to the UF TREEO Center. If you prefer, the training may be accomplished at the TREEO Center.

A proctored final exam is also required for course completion. This can be accomplished at your local site with appropriate supervision. Please call the TREEO Center to schedule your final exam.

Students must sign up separately for the state Level-D Exam. For more information about the state exam, go to the FDEP Website.
