This three day course will cover many of the relevant topics that appear on the Florida Class C Drinking Water test. Topics include, but are not limited to:

Water sources and rights
Surface Water treatment including: Coagulation, Flocculation, Sedimentation & Filtration
Water Math
Ion exchange water softening
Lime softening
Disinfection
Corrosion control
Taste and odor control
Troubleshooting
Florida and EPA MCLs and rules
Students: Please bring the calculator that you plan to use during the exam, we would like you to use it doing practice calculations. We will have calculators available if needed.

Course Instructors:
Ron Trygar, CET-Ron has recently joined the UF TREEO Center staff as our Senior Training Specialist for Water and Wastewater. He has worked in the wastewater industry for twenty five years in a variety of locations and jobs. In 1998 Ron became a Certified Environmental Trainer (CET) and has since provided training for associations and regulatory agencies such as FDEP; UF-TREEO Center; FW&PCOA Short Schools; USABlueBook; FWEA sponsored training events and local school environmental programs. He has also assisted the U.S. EPA in providing flow measurement training in Tallahassee, and along with the FDEP Northeast District, he helped begin the FRWA/FDEP joint operator certification review classes that are still given around the state today. Ron holds a Florida class A wastewater treatment operator’s license and a Florida class C drinking water operator’s license.
Charlie Martin (depending on his busy schedule) has a Florida Class A Water/Wastewater Operator's licence. He has a B.S. in Biology/Expanded Physical Science and an A.A. degree in Chemistry. He has over 14 years experience in Water/Wastewater treatment. Presently he is the Water/Wastewater Director for the City of Graceville and operates an Advanced Wastewater Faciltiy and a NELAC certified Drinking Water/Environmental Water Laboratory. Charlie is also pursuing his Engineering degree at FSU.
