Description

This course describes the factors that influence disinfection, explains the process of disinfection using chlorine, hypochlorite, chlorine dioxide and chloramines. It also describes the breakpoint chlorination process and identifies the points of chlorine application. It also trains the operator how to operate and maintain chlorination equipment, handle chlorine safely, how to select the proper chlorine dosage and how to start up and shut down chlorination equipment. The course also highlights troubleshooting of chlorination systems, how to develop and conduct a chlorine safety program and how to operate and maintain disinfection processes other than with chlorine.

Who Should Take the Course

This course is recommended for B and C level Water Treatment Plant Operators.

Requirements for Online Courses

  • You should be computer literate and familiar with PC-based systems to participate in the online courses.
  • Prepayment is required before you will receive log-in information, including address and password.
  • You must provide an email address at time of registration/payment.
  • Courses must be completed within six months from date of registration. Certificate will be issued on the date you pass the final exam.
