Description

 

Prerequisite:  Asbestos Refresher: Inspector.  This course focuses on the management planner’s role in asbestos hazards assessment, response actions, and operations and maintenance programs.

In Florida Asbestos Management Planners must work under the direction of a Florida Licensed Asbestos Consultant.  

The successful completion of a 25-question exam is required.  Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive a Certificate of Reaccreditation as an Asbestos Management Planner. 

The cost of the course includes course materials and the exam.

Daily breaks and lunch at UF TREEO provided.

 
You must be in attendance for entire course to receive continuing education credit and a Certificate of Reaccreditation.
 
 
 

About the Course

This half-day course is held in the afternoon following the required Asbestos Refresher Inspector in the morning.
The course focuses on the management planner’s role in asbestos hazards assessment, response actions and operations and maintenance programs. 
 
Upon successful completion of the course and exam, you will receive a Certificate of Reaccreditation as an Asbestos Management Planner.

This course has been approved by the EPA and the State of Florida for persons wishing to receive re-accreditation. To be reaccredited, you must provide proof of having successfully completed the initial EPA-approved training course and any annual refresher courses in the discipline in which you seek re-accreditation. If your initial and most recent refresher course certificates were issued through another training provider, you must submit copies with your registration form. On-site refresher training is available for large groups. 

Required Exam:  Successful completion of a 25-question exam is required to receive your Certificate of Reaccreditation. See "Refresher Exam Study Guides" under the asbestos introduction to prepare for this exam. Persons who plan to do asbestos work in other states should contact that state to verify that accreditation, licensure and other requirements are met.

Certification and Accreditation

 

PREREQUISITES: U.S. EPA requires documentation of current AHERA Certificates of Accreditation and Certificates of Reaccreditation; and Florida BPR: Licensure of Asbestos Professionals has approved only certain training providers from which you can receive credit to renew your Florida license.

UF/TREEO's asbestos refresher courses are approved by the EPA and the State of Florida for persons wishing to receive re-accreditation. Special Course Approvals:
Course approvals are based on your completion of both the Asbestos Refresher: Inspector and Asbestos Refresher: Management Planner on the same day.

State of Florida Architecture and Interior Design: This course has been approved by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation's Architecture and Interior Design Board as continuing education for license renewal at the intermediate level of instruction.

American Board of Industrial Hygiene: This course has been approved by the American Board of Industrial Hygiene for certification maintenance points for Certified Industrial Hygienists.

Florida Department of Professional Regulation: Asbestos Licensing Unit: This course is approved by the Florida Department of Professional Regulation. Training Provider Number: FL-49-0000995.

Florida Board of Professional Engineers: This course has been approved by the Florida Board of Professional Engineers for Professional Development Hours (PDHs). Provider Number: 0004040 (CE: Areas of Practice/Educational Institutions).

Florida Licensed Asbestos Contractors and Consultants: This course has been approved by the Florida Department of Professional Regulation for licensed Asbestos Contractor's and Consultant's biennium license renewal course continuing education credits.
