- Certification and Accreditation
At the completion/test passage of our initial course, UF/TREEO issues a "Certificate of Course Completion." This certificate will serve as an interim certification for an individual for 6 months. This interim certification allows you to conduct lead-based paint activities without being in violation of the law during this time period in Florida. Please note that the interim certification exists only for completion of initial courses, not the refresher courses.
For you to receive EPA's "Certificate to Conduct Lead-Based Paint Activities," you must submit an "Application for Individuals to Conduct Lead-Based Paint Activities," to EPA, along with the appropriate fee. EPA will review your application and once approved, require you to sit for an EPA Certificate Exam. After you successfully complete their exam, then EPA will issue your certification. Course refreshers are required every three years.
