UF/TREEO is an approved FBPE continuing education provider. Please see course listings for FBPE professional development hours. The center also offers the FBPE required course Laws and Rules for Florida Engineers. If you are interested in earning engineering continuing education credit, please bring your license number and photo identification with you to class. For additional information about these courses, please contact Stephanie West. Florida Board of Professional Engineers Many of the TREEO classes we offer are approved for continuing education credit for professional engineers that attend the entire class. These are listed on the website and brochures as FBPE PDH’s 0004021 (provider #) for the Laws and Rules courses only. All other TREEO courses will use the FBPE PDH’s 0004040 number. The 2009 renewal period is for classes taken during 03/01/2007 – 02/28/2009. When TREEO students sign in on the special credit form for Engineering Credit (PDH), we report the class, hours and student to the FL Board of Professional Engineering. However, it is the Licensee’s responsibility to report the Area of Practice (all TREEO classes other the Laws and Rule class) hours to the license portal at www.myfloridalicense.com and maintain a copy of these records for a minimum of two renewal cycles or four years for auditing purposes. Laws & Rules courses are automatically reported by the provider (TREEO) and cannot be self-reported. Areas of Practice ProvidersWe are listed as "Education Institutions" with the provider number 0004040, not as the University of FL TREEO Center if students are looking for us under the Area of Practice providers. Laws & Rules ProvidersWe are listed as "UF Division of Continuing Education" with the provider number 0004021, and need course number 0000060 on certificates for the Laws and Rules classes. Sean Benjamin is the contact at the FL Board of Professional Engineers. He provided us with the following statement for PE’s who can’t find their Continuing Education in the system: CE not showing on the system: To the PEIt is the responsibility of the provider to electronically report all Areas of Practice CE hours. Although it is the provider’s responsibility to report the continuing education for Areas of Practice, it is the Licensee’s responsibility to report the Area of Practice hours to the license portal at www.myfloridalicense.com and maintain a copy of these records for a minimum of two renewal cycles or four years for auditing purposes. You also have the option of waiting to receive your renewal form in the mail and report the hours of the renewal form. Faxes of certificates will not be accepted. Laws & Rules courses are automatically reported by the provider and cannot be self-reported. If you do not see the hours on the portal under “View Continuing Education,” please contact the provider. At this time, you can login to http://myfloridalicense.com and self-report your CE hours. Note: The provider does not do this for you. Do not be alarmed if your CE is not showing posted to the website. I trust you will find this information helpful. If you need further information, please E-mail Sean Benjamin at sbenjamin@fbpe.org or call the Florida Board of Professional Engineers at (850) 521-0500 ext 110.
