The Florida Department of Environmental Protection Quality Assurance (QA) Program
ensures that the environmental sampling and analysis data received by the department is appropriate and scientifically sound and that the proposed procedures are designed to produce data that are reproducible, comparable, reliable, representative, and defensible within known limits of precision, accuracy and sensitivity. The department's quality assurance requirements for analytical laboratories and field activities are codified in Chapter 62-160, F.A.C., Quality Assurance. On July 18, 2003, the Department published a notice of rule development for 62-160 F.A.C. As a result of these changes, UF/TREEO with FDEP is offering hands-on training courses in environmental field sampling.
