If you regularly participate in activities conducted on hazardous waste sites and/or are involved in the handling, storage, transportation or clean-up of hazardous substances, you are mandated to have training under the Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act of 1986 (SARA) and the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act of 1976 (RCRA).
The Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) and the U.S. Department of Transportation require periodic training for individuals in companies that generate, store or transfer/transport hazardous materials/waste.
Many businesses are unaware that they are subject to regulation under RCRA. If your facility generates, stores, transports or disposes of hazardous waste, you should attend UF/TREEO courses to learn more about the handling and management of hazardous waste.
Students are encouraged to bring questions to the course about their own operations. You can use what you learn in these courses and apply it to your job.
